Tax March Applauds Chairman Neal for Moving Forward on Trump’s Tax Returns
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Following reports that House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard Neal has asked committee staff to prepare the request for Trump’s tax returns, Tax March spokesperson Ryan Thomas released the following statement:
“For far too long, the public has been kept in the dark about Donald Trump’s conflicts of interest and financial entanglements. We applaud Chairman Neal and Democratic leadership for requesting Donald Trump’s tax returns and conducting the critical oversight needed to hold him accountable.
“Two years ago on Tax Day, 125,000 people across the country marched in the streets to demand Donald Trump’s tax returns be released. Today, their tireless activism has paid off and a true investigation of the president’s conflicts of interest can begin.
“Once House Ways and Means Committee does obtain Trump’s personal returns, they must be made public.”
