Tax March Applauds Ways and Means Democrats for Holding Republicans Accountable for GOP Tax Scam

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Following today’s House Ways and Means Committee hearing on the disastrous impacts of Republicans’ tax law, Tax March spokesperson Ryan Thomas released the following statement:

“We commend Democrats on the House Ways and Means Committee for exposing Republicans’ tax law for what it is: a scam that has left American workers and middle-class families further behind.

“Today’s hearing showed that this tax law was never written for working people. Instead, it was written by and for the millionaires, billionaires, and wealthy corporations that Donald Trump and Republican lawmakers are beholden to. From companies buying back billions of dollars in stock to enrich already-wealthy investors to millionaires using their tax savings to buy another yacht, Republicans’ tax law benefited the wealthy and well-connected at the expense of everyone else.

“As the American people continue to face the consequences of the GOP’s disastrous tax law, Congress must seek to repeal it and make the wealthiest Americans and largest corporations pay their fair share.”
