Tax March Congratulates the Biden-Harris Administration on Inauguration Day and Calls for Swift Economic Justice
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Tax March welcomes President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris back to D.C. on this momentous Inauguration Day. With sights already set on passing a COVID relief package, the Biden-Harris administration and the Democratically-controlled Congress must shoot for the moon to end this pandemic. To paraphrase Rev. Dr. Silvester Beaman’s declaration during today’s ceremony, we must seek rehabilitation beyond correction and we must extend opportunity to those locked out of opportunity.
Now is the time for helping the people who have been left behind for too long, not for bailing out big businesses and giving handouts to the wealthy. This country’s economy has always been broken—now it’s time to fix it.
Tax March Executive Director Maura Quint released the following statement:
“Today marks the beginning of the end of COVID. With an historically powerful mandate, President Biden must lead our country toward a people-first economy by boldly investing in working families, small businesses, and all those who have been left behind by the American economy for too long. The American people decisively elected this president and new Congress to push for the most aggressive disaster relief package possible and end the pandemic. Now, the Democratic trifecta must deliver the relief they promised on the campaign trail.”
