Tax March Releases Statement Responding To Reports of Another Round of Trump Tax Cuts

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In anticipation of the two-year mark of the Trump tax law’s passage, the White House kicked off closed-door discussions of yet another tax cut package heading into 2020.  

The following statement is from Tax March Executive Director Maura Quint:

“Reboots are very popular these days, but another round of the Trump Tax Scam is one reboot the American public simply cannot afford.  

The first version of Trump’s tax scam ended up just being a massive giveaway to the wealthy. And, I can guarantee the second version of it is going to have the same bad plot, with an even worse ending.  

As details about this ploy get leaked from the White House over the next few weeks, we must bear in mind that this tax plan is Trump’s attempt to line the pockets of his wealthy friends, while pretending that he’s helping the middle class going into an election season. We’re nearing the two-year mark of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act — the original tax scam — so let’s not forget what its legacy has been: a slowed-down economy, massive tax cuts for the wealthy, stagnated workers’ wages, and increased income inequality. 

It’s time to repeal the Trump tax cuts — not reboot the same failed experiment in economic inequality.”
