Tax March Responds to Senate Republicans’ Infrastructure Counterproposal: “Nope.”
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Senate Republicans introduced their counterproposal to President Biden’s infrastructure plan. The package lands with the weight of a feather, protecting Trump’s tax cuts for the rich and promising just 23 percent of the total public investment Americans need to fully overcome the economic devastation of the pandemic. While President Biden’s Build Back Better agenda boasts historic, New Deal-era investments in our country’s physical and human infrastructure, the counteroffer proves once more that Republicans will do anything to protect billionaires and tax dodging corporations like Nike and FedEx and nothing to help working people or create an economy that works for all of us, not just the wealthy few.
Tax March Executive Director Maura Quint responded to the Senate Republicans’ infrastructure counterproposal:
“Nope.”
