Tax March Responds to Trump’s Appeal to the Supreme Court to Block Request for His Tax Returns

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Tax March released the following statement from Tax March Campaign Director Dana Bye in response to reports that Trump has asked the Supreme Court to reverse a court order requiring him to turn over eight years of tax returns.

“The President’s actions are that of a man who is feeling cornered and desperate. It’s no surprise that Trump would appeal to the Supreme Court to keep his tax returns away from the public. This is the same man who heads an administration that goes to extremes to do his bidding at the expense of the American people. But we will not stand for our democracy to take a backseat to Trump’s whims. We urge the Supreme Court to let the lower court’s decision stand, and show the people of this country that no one is above the law.”
