Tax March Statement on President Trump’s Supreme Court Nominee
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Tax March re leased the following statement from Tax March Executive Director Maura Quint on President Trumps’ Supreme Court nominee, Judge Amy Coney Barrett, to fill Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat.

“President Trump and Senate Republicans are once again upending Senate precedent to jam through another right-wing Supreme Court nominee. This is a hypocritical and nakedly partisan power grab that once again proves where Trump and McConnell’s priorities lie – with the wealth and big corporations.

“A hallmark of John Roberts’ Supreme Court has been the consistent prioritization of the wealthy and corporate interests at the expense of everyday Americans. Political speech has been gutted. Health care and reproductive rights are under constant threat. Barrett has a consistent track record of these same extremist views. She will find plenty of support from Justices Gorsuch, Thomas, and Kavanaugh.

“Unfortunately, while McConnell and the Senate jam through another partisan, right-wing Justice, tens of millions of Americans are still unemployed and thousands are still dying from the pandemic every day. McConnell must pass the HEROES Act so millions of unemployed families and frontline workers can get the help they desperately need.”
